URGENT: Check Your Heart for These 3 Conditions
Watch on YouTube ↗ Read transcript ↓
Summary
In one line: "Create in me a clean heart" (Psalm 51:8-11) — three conditions of the heart: deceitful, sensitive (flesh), and pliable — and the "delight" of Psalm 37:4 really means being soft and flexible in God's hands.
Key points
- Read scripture so it speaks to you, don't fit yourself into it. "A leap of faith" means guessing whether God spoke — faith is anchored in what God said; "believing is not faith."
- 1. The deceitful heart (Jeremiah 17:9) — even good deeds with impure intent.
- 2. The heart of flesh (Ezekiel 36:26) — sensitive to what grieves the Spirit, to people's pain, quick to take direction and correction. A stony heart feels no remorse and resists counsel. "When men and women of God bash each other — why would anyone become a Christian?" You disconnect from family instead of being their light.
- Zacchaeus (Luke 19:1-10): Jesus didn't preach — He just came to eat, and His presence changed the man. "People don't do what they're told; they do what they see."
- His own rule: he counsels those God brings close, but when his word carries no weight, he stops — "this is the last time I'll counsel you."
- 3. Delight = anag, to be soft and pliable like leather. We give God blueprints, then "bind demons" when the process differs. Joseph needed flexibility from pit to palace. "If you're like everybody, what new thing can God do with you?" (Isaiah 43:19) — "the closer to God, the harder it gets — He's making you pliable."

Now, I'm not going to take too much time. If you can bring up the scripture for me. He said, "Cast," let's start from verse eight, please. Make me to hear joy and gladness that the bones which thou has broken may rejoice. Now, this is a scripture that if God has not revealed to you what God is saying, you can interpret it in any way that you feel like. And that is usually the case many times if somebody is reading or preaching or teaching but they are fitting themsel into the text but not the text talking to them.
Because you have to understand even though scripture can align to most of what is going on in our lives and which is okay. There's nothing wrong with that. It's just some people stretch the scripture out of the scope of what it's saying. But usually it will be within the confines of what God is trying to express. But also the scripture itself also has context of what God is truly saying. And if you understand what God is saying directly, then everything else also that is going on in your life, you will hear the unspoken words that fit you into the picture of what God is doing. You have to remember the word of God reveals to us where we fit into God. We don't fit ourself into what God didn't say.
I don't know if somebody's understanding.
Many times we find oursself in trouble because we miscomprehend scripture. That's where people came up with doctrines like blind faith, taking a leap of faith. There is nothing about that about faith. Faith is directly connected to what God has said. If God has said he will make it good. If God has said he will make it come to pass.
You taking a leap of faith means that you are guessing if God spoke. What if he didn't speak?
Am I communicating with somebody? Then it will become like ah you know I just took a a leap of faith to see what God will do. No you don't see what God will do. You are supposed to know
amen
what God is going to do. You have to know what God can do. There is no guessing when it comes to God.
Modern Christianity has made us people who guess
because we don't know the heart of God. And if you don't know the heart of God and you don't know the mind of God, you will not produce what is called faith. Because faith is anchored and centered on the mind of God and what God has spoken to you.
If he did not speak it, don't do it.
That's right. It doesn't matter how much you believe because believing is not faith
and faith is not believing
teaching good.
I don't know if you're understanding what I'm saying.
Now, in order to explain this to you, I have to take you to another scripture and then we'll come back.
Hallelujah.
Psalm 37:4.
Delight thyself also in the Lord, and he shall give thee the desires of thy heart. Now the word delight there with you know modern translation which is not exactly wrong but you lose a little bit of the understanding of what delighting actually means. You have to understand that there are three there there are three conditions of the heart.
Number one the heart is deceit. The heart is desperately wicked. Meaning the nature of the heart it cannot be trusted. There are many things that we have done in our lives to think that and we think we had the right intent, the right spirit behind it and God completely completely hates it because the intent of our heart was not pure.
It may have been to bring out something good but still the intent of our heart was not what? Pure. Number two, the second condition when God begins to work on us, he gives us what is called a heart of flesh. And the heart of flesh is a sensitive heart. A heart sensitive to God. Now you have to remember a sensitive heart is not a heart God is using. A sensitive heart is a heart that is sensitive to God's desire.
Sensitive to things that displease God, sensitive to what will grieve the heart of the Holy Spirit, sensitive to what God may not want you to do. This is where when God begins to reform you, this is where now when our heart is changed, when we want to do what we used to do, our heart is not connecting. It's like ah I don't know if I should I it doesn't feel right. Why? Because God has given you a sensitive heart that you may know his heart.
God is not yet speaking. But you are being led by the spirit. And you cannot be led by the spirit unless you are sensitive to the spirit.
You see when a demon is leading somebody, somebody becomes sensitive to a demon.
What does that mean? You begin to feel things that that devil wants you to do. that sometimes you want to resist it. An example is if you are bound with an addiction, when that urge comes, you even try to fight it, but if the Lord is not your help, you'll find yourself in that addiction. Whether it is pornography, whether it is alcohol, whether it is drugs, whether it is anger, there is an enticing that comes and you desire to resist it and sometimes you can just fall into it.
So when God is beginning his work in our heart, he gives us what is called a heart of flesh.
Meaning a heart that is sensitive. Because there are people who have a stony heart.
Is somebody listening to me?
When you have a stony heart, you don't feel God. You resist God.
There is no remorse for your actions.
You are not uh uh you are not you you you don't even have I'm not saying you because we are not supposed to be condemned but we are supposed to have some sort of remorse. Ah what I did man that wasn't good. Father forgive me. But when you have a stony heart you don't care. You do whatever you want anytime you want. No one can tell you anything.
No one can move you. No one can direct you. But the process of being reformed in God begins with a sensitive heart.
When you have a sensitive heart, you don't insult your neighbor because you may be insulting God that is in them.
When you have the heart of When you have a sensitive heart, you are you are sensitive to people's problems. Even when you don't understand them, you desire to know God's mind for them. When you see somebody in pain, you understand what it is to be in pain. You pray for them. Even in the midst of their pain, you say, "Lord, I don't understand it, but their tears, I feel for them. If I was in that position, I want somebody to pray for me. Father, I pray for them.
Most of you don't intercede for your friends. You don't intercede for your family because you don't have a heart of flesh. You have a stony heart.
Come on.
When you can stand and speak against another person, whether it's a man of God or a woman of God or whatever it may be, you don't have a heart of flesh.
Because if you have a heart of flesh, you understand God can change anyone at any time. If I insult them today, am I giving them a stony heart to resist God?
My God.
Am I contributing to their desire not to serve God?
Am I pushing them and plunging them
into all that God does not want them to be?
Or am I facilitating the work of the spirit within them
that the Holy Spirit can begin to work on them. That is why the Bible says everything we do, we have to do it in love.
Why? I can be stunned, but I can be stunned because my intention to speak about you is because I love you and I want you to change.
Most of men of God and women of God in today's world, they are the they are the most uh um what is it called? The most the most h they are rocks. They are not even a stone. Their hearts have become like rocks. Because when you see how men and women of God are talking about each other, you just sit down and you're like,
why do why would I become a Christian?
Because when I look at Jesus, even when he rebuked the Pharisees, he never dealt with them in that way.
What is this Christianity people are displaying is because most people have a heart of stone.
Their heart is not sensitive. They are not thinking beyond what they don't like. It's not even what God doesn't like, what they don't like.
If I disagree with you, I'm quickly to go and bash you. Why stony heart? If you don't align with me, then you are this, you are that some of you even do that with your own family members. I'm full of the Holy Ghost. You people don't even like praying. Stay away from me. Ah,
no. It's true.
You disconnect from your loved ones instead of being the light that will lead them to light. Yeah. Come on.
Come on.
I feel like I'm talking to myself.
Some of your children, some of your brothers, your sisters, your neighbors would have changed if you're only sensitive to them.
That doesn't mean you're agreeing with them.
Do you realize when the Lord Jesus would go and sit with the publicans and all these kinds of people, he was just going to be a light to them. He didn't always teach them.
Sometimes he just went to sit with them. Why? Because every religious leader refused to sit with them. So how can you minister to people that you cannot reach?
That's good.
I feel like I'm talking to myself. When the Lord Jesus met Zachariah and and he was he was Zakius and he was on a tree. Jesus didn't preach to him. The man wanted to see Jesus. Jesus just said, "I'm coming to eat. Zakius, come down. said, "Me? Yeah, I'm coming to eat at your house." Said, "Me?" Jesus prophesied his name. Jesus went to his house and all he did is is he went to eat. And people gathered to see Jesus.
Why would Jesus go to his house? Jesus just being in the house, the man began to change. You know what? I will pay back everybody that I owed. I will pay everybody double for their trouble. When you carry the heart and the presence of God,
come on,
your presence is enough to reform, to change, to convert,
to direct, and to shift people into the destinies
that God has for them.
Amen.
It begins with what God has done in you, not what you're going to talk about, God.
We all want to declare, "God has done this." No, let me look at your life and see what God has done.
That's it. Remember people usually don't do what they told they do what they see.
True.
So when they look at you, they observe you. Who do they see?
Come on.
When you are examined, who do they see?
When you have a sensitive heart, you work overtime to improve your spiritual life.
Because a sensitive heart desires to be closer to God. A stony heart does not care about God. It cares about what it wants.
It resists God. It prays when it feels like. When it prays, it's because it wants something, not because it is the way of life. It does not depend on God.
It is self-sufficient on its own.
But when you have a heart of flesh, you desire God.
You truly desire God. You want to hear God better. You want to draw closer to God. You want to understand the mind of God. You want to hear the word of God. You want to open your Bible and read because you want to grow in the wisdom of God. You read scripture and you fall into tears. You say, "No, father, I want to be like this. Father, I want to grow like that." If they could hear your voice, what about me? If you could, there is something about you because the nature of the flesh is to grow.
At least in context of scripture. And yes, not talking about fleshly desires. It's talking about a soft heart, a sensitive heart. Most of us actually need to pray for that. Pray for that. A sensitive heart is quick to take direction.
A sensitive heart is quick to take correction. If you have a stony heart, you will resist correction. When you have a stony heart, you resist direction. Most people's shipwreck is because of a stony heart.
They will absorb what they like because of the outcome they want. But when it challenges them to become more, they will fight against it because their desire wasn't to change. Their desire is to get what they want.
That's what a stony heart does to you. But a sensitive heart is is always ever paying attention. I always tell people this because I don't like going back and forth with people. Nah, I'm not into that. those who God has granted them access to me
and God has drawn them close, I give counsel. But when I notice that my word has no weight in your life, I stop.
I know there's a stony heart, you can't do anything about it.
And I will say, listen, I'm going to tell you this one more time.
If I I after this, I won't say it again. That's just my nature. Because the back and forth pulling, I'm not into that.
When God brings you, you have to understand what God has set you up for. And if you don't get it, I will say one, twice, three times. I'll be patient. But then when I see that you are not wavering, same old, I'll just say listen, this is the last time I will counsel you and I won't do it again. You can call me, we can talk when I am available, but not for advice because my word has no weight and it stops immediately.
When we have a sensitive heart, our destiny is bright.
Amen.
When we have a heart of stone, we have put a full stop on what God should do with us.
Is somebody listening?
Yes, sir.
Is this too heavy for you? Wave your hands if you can hear me.
Wave your hands
because this is necessary. Overflow. Are you there? Let me see you wave your hands. Okay. Go. God bless you. God bless you.
Number two.
Number three. Okay. Number three. I'm sorry. Number three.
There's a a a word delight is not just to make merry because that's what the English translation makes it to appear like
because to delight is to feel good. But the word delight there is a n a g a nag which means in Hebrew is a nag and it means to be soft and to be pliable.
That's good.
To be soft and to be pliable meaning to become flexible.
It is not about yay is to be flexible
in whatever God is doing.
To be flexible. Shake your neighbor. Say, be flexible.
Be flexible.
I can hear you.
Be flexible.
I can't hear you.
Be flexible.
I think you can say it louder and better.
Be flexible.
To delight. is to be soft, to be pliable like like leather that you can stretch it, you could do whatever it is. It does not break.
To be flexible. Why is it a requirement for you to be flexible in whatever God is doing? Because God's ways is not our way.
Most of us pray and we give God a blueprint on how the outcome is supposed to be.
We even tell God the process of how it's supposed to be. So when the process goes against what we expected, we begin to bind demons.
Ah, I feel like I'm talking to myself.
You're teaching.
We begin to look at our life and say, "This is demonic." Yet the sign of maturity
is to be pliable,
to be flexible,
God shows Joseph his destiny.
He shows him the glory that will come to him
when he will be in the center of God's will.
But the process to go there needed flexibility.
Yes. If I throw you in the pit, will you have a stony heart or will you flow? Lord, as you flow, I will go because I know wherever.
Yes.
Hallelujah.
I feel like I'm preaching now.
Come on.
Good.
If you're not flexible,
you will not be able to go through doors that God has for you.
If you're not flexible,
God cannot hide you in the places that he wants to hide you. Come on.
If you're not flexible,
God cannot conceal matters to you because you are somebody that jumps from one place to another. God cannot mold you like clay.
Anything that is difficult or hard, God breaks it.
Yes.
Why? Because God wants you to be nimble.
God desires for you to be flexible. Because what God wants to do with you, he has never done with anybody.
But if you're like any
Uh-huh. Come on.
If you're like everybody, then what is the new thing God can do with you?
Come on.
The Bible says, "Behold, I do a new thing."
Yeah.
But if God comes to you and you are just like your mother, like your brother, like your sister, where is the glory in it?
Hallelujah.
Teach prophet. But when you're nimble, you're flexible, you are soft,
God can stretch you to places other have never been stretched to.
God can anoint you in ways, let me talk to somebody. God can anoint you in ways he has never anointed others.
I receive.
God can increase you to where he has never increased others.
God can elevate you to places
others have never been elevated.
Amen.
Thank you, Lord. Hallelujah.
Some of you are looking at yourself saying,
"The closer I get to God,
come on.
Why are things more difficult
is because he's trying to make you pliable.
Come on.
He's trying to make you nimble."
Yeah.
Because now that you're in his hands, I feel like I'm talking to myself.
You're teaching.
The Holy Spirit will be poured on you like water.
Yes.
So when he breaks you, he mens you.
Yes.
He's making you soft.
Shake your neighbor. Say, "Be soft."
Be soft.
I can't hear you.
Be soft.
Shake your neighbor. Say, "Be soft."
Be He saw.
