Summary
In one line: Contend for your encounter — a merely "Bible-believing" church is not safe; you want a Spirit-yielded church that deciphers Scripture by the Spirit.
Key insights
- "Too much talk — where's the power?" (1 Corinthians 2:4-5). Jesus was a man approved of God by miracles, signs and wonders (Acts 2:22) — approval comes by encounter.
- Bible-believers crucified the Saviour. They had no revelation because they had no encounter and no acquaintance with the Holy Spirit. "If you all became spiritual, fake churches would close."
- Experience over intellect: he'd rather have an unlearned pastor deeply experienced in the Spirit. Elisha was a farmer; many apostles were unlearned — but when you met them, you knew you met God.
- No one has an encounter comfortably. Moses climbed a mountain; others left their parents' homes or consecrated themselves. We became unspiritual because we traded the spiritual for comfort.
- You can't obey without an encounter. "Those who love Me keep My word" (John 14:23) — "obedient to what? You don't know Him."
- Don't help God where He didn't send you. Uzzah touched the ark to keep it from falling — a noble act — and died (2 Samuel 6:6-7): "that encounter is too heavy for you — stay in your lane."
- Stop being "salvation police." People judge other churches' styles because they have no encounter and too much free time. With an encounter you're focused on returning a profit on what the Lord gave you (Matthew 25:14-30).

CONTEND FOR YOUR ENCOUNTER.
Contend for it. We have too many people, you see. I love what Apostle Paul said.
Apostle Paul said it in 1 Corinthians chapter 2. And other places in scripture, too. He said there's too much talk. Where's the power? There's too much talk. Where's the encounter? There's too much talk. Where's the manifestation of the spirit? Let me tell you, if you all really became spiritual, fake churches will close.
No, I'm telling YOU THE TRUTH.
JESUS CHRIST, a man approved of God with miracle signs and wonders, approved of God. How is he approved of God? By an encounter. There is evidence that he has been approved. That's why I said what I said last week. So, listen. I don't want a Bible-believing church. Those who believe the Bible crucified my savior. It was his destiny, but they did. Do you know why they did? They had no revelation. Do you know why they had no revelation? They had no encounter. They had no acquaintance with the Holy Spirit whatsoever.
So, a Bible-believing church is not a safe place. A spirit-yielded CHURCH THAT DECIPHERS THE SCRIPTURES BY THE SPIRIT IS WHERE YOU WANT TO BE.
I DON'T WANT AN INTELLECTUAL CHURCH. I rather have a pastor that is unlearned, but is extremely experienced in the things of the spirit.
Yes, sir.
The apostles, many of them were unlearned. Some of the prophets were unlearned. Elisha was unlearned. He was a farmer. But when you met him, he told you about God, you knew you met God.
How did we become like this? How did we become so unspiritual? Because we have traded comfort for the spiritual because the spiritual you have to give up self.
No one has had an encounter comfortably. Moses had to climb a mountain.
Others had to leave their fathers and mothers' homes. Others had to be in a place of consecration. But they knew what they were going to gain was going to fix everything in their life that is broken.
The Lord Jesus said this. He said, "Those who love me are those who keep my word."
You see, God knows you can't obey him without an encounter. Did you know that? Most people don't know that. I try I have to be obedient. I have to be obedient to what? You don't know him.
Do you know that if you do something for God he didn't send you to do it, you're actually in trouble? The ark of the covenant was for the Levites to carry. While they are carrying the ark, the ark was falling. A young man tried to save the ark, DOING A NOBLE THING, TOUCHED THE ark of the covenant. Do you know what happened? He died.
Don't help God where he didn't SEND YOU.
AMEN.
AMEN.
IMAGINE DOING SOMETHING NOBLE. WHY WOULD I WANT THE ARK OF THE COVENANT to fall? He said, "No, I got to hold the
No, that encounter is too heavy for you. Stay in your lane.
When you understand the value of encounters, you'll stop being a salvation manager. Amen. You'll be an encourager.
But you'll stop being a salvation manager. Why do they preach like that? Why do they shout prophesy? None of your business. Amen. Why do they always scream IN THEIR CHURCH? WHY DO THEY ALWAYS RUN? What do they None of your business. That is their assignment, not yours.
Salvation police, jury, judge, managers We became like this because people have no encounters. People have too much time on their hands. Because if I've had an encounter, I am so concentrated on what God has for me to do that won't have time to look at you. Why would I be looking at you? I would be worried about what I've been given to make sure when my Lord comes, he will find a profit on what he has given me.
