Summary
In one line: A mother (born 1 January 1958) and her pregnant daughter: in the mother's line God anointed the women; her grandmother's prayers in the Catholic church carried a promise to destroy the family witchcraft.
Key moments
- Vision: the mother's lover, already married, abandoned her when pregnant; a loving stepfather named Mukasa later died through witchcraft, and his family seized the house and farm and blamed the daughter.
- The daughter miscarried after dreaming a snake chasing her — curses spoken over her — and hadn't conceived for 10 years. Now pregnant: "a boy like Joseph, prospering in a foreign land — call him Joseph."
