Your Dry Season Has a Divine Purpose

Summary
In one line: God allows dry seasons to kill the weeds — weeds are shallow-rooted and flourish when you flourish; drought leaves only what has deep roots.
Key points
- Deliverance kills everything except what is of God — everything old, of you, or planted by the devil — leaving only Jesus, the Vine (John 15:5).
- A tree can live without leaves — leaves make food, but nutrients come from the roots. When what used to work no longer works, your roots draw from a source not everyone can reach.
- "Spiritual growth doesn't come in favourable times — but when you depend solely on Jesus, not on what He produces."

Now, why does God allow this?
Why would God allow for a dry season to go through your life? It's because weeds are not deeply rooted. If God is to get rid of weeds, he has to allow a dry season because weeds only grow on the surface. They are not deeply rooted because nobody planted them. THEY JUST HAPPEN. WHEN GOD IS FLOURISHING YOU, THEY FLOURISH, TOO.
AMEN.
But the POINT OF GOD FLOURISHING you is your roots to go deep.
Amen.
That's good.
SO THAT WHEN GOD SENDS DELIVERANCE, you have to remember deliverance kills everything. Now, you didn't hear what I said. When God sends deliverance, it kills everything. It doesn't spare anybody.
It kills everything unless it finds God himself. When God puts us through these seasons that only our roots remain, it means he's getting rid of everything old, everything that is of you,
everything that is of me, everything that the devil put in play. God is destroying everything. He's only leaving JESUS CHRIST.
YES.
WHO IS THE VINE AND WE ARE SIMPLY THE BRANCHES. YES. SO THAT HE CAN BRING UP ONLY WHAT IS OF VALUE

IN HIS SIGHT.
AMEN.
Some of you are in a season where all you have is roots. And that's all you really have. That's all we really have. But there are times you can just feel like there is nothing happening for you.
Nothing at all. What used to work doesn't seem like it's working anymore. What used to come easily is no longer coming as easy as it was before. Because remember, the leaves What is it called? Photosynthesis? Is that what it's Yeah, yeah. Okay, I remembered school for a second. The leaves is where the food is made. But the nutrients of a tree are not really from the leaves, they're from the roots.
Because a tree can still be alive without leaves.
So, there are times you go through that everything is dry. But your roots are not because they are rooted and grounded, able to pull from a source that not everybody can. That is where true spiritual growth actually comes from. Spiritual growth doesn't come from favorable times. Spiritual growth comes from when you are only solely dependent on Jesus Christ and not what he can produce.
Amen.
